I served in the Army.

Andrew Jackson Willingham (Andy), 89, of Rotan, Texas passed away Friday, December 22, 2017. A graveside service will be held at Hobbs Cemetery in Fisher County on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.

Andy was born January 3, 1928 in Fisher County, Texas. He was the only son of Sterling and Jewel (Beller) Willingham.

A 1949 graduate of Texas Technological College, Andy received a degree in Electrical Engineering. He met the love of his life while at Tech, and married Mary Alice Christian on December 9, 1950.

He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Rucker, Alabama until his discharge in January, 1953. He then moved his family to Amarillo, Texas to take a job at Marsh Electrical Supply, where he worked until 1972. After moving to Houston to start a new job with Wide Lite Corporation, Andy eventually started his own business, Techna Marketing, Inc., where he worked until he retired.

Andy was a man with a strong work ethic and a kind, loving, generous spirit. He always put others ahead of himself and dearly loved his family.

Andy was preceded in death by both parents and his wife, Mary. He is survived by two sons: Steve Willingham and wife Cheryle of Amarillo, Texas; David Willingham and wife, Gloria of Irving, Texas; two granddaughters Kelly Willingham Dunavin (and Jarrod) and Casey Willingham Littlefield (and Golden) both of Amarillo; as well as three great-grandchildren, Avery and Jackson Dunavin and Harper Littlefield. Granddaddy Andy, as he was affectionately called, will be dearly missed.
