James ""Buddy"" Albert Gallagher

JAYTON JAMES ALBERT quotBUDDYquot GALLAGHER Jr., 86, died Thursday December 1, 2011 at a Lubbock hospital. Graveside Services will 11:30 a.m. at Jayton Cemetery under the ion of WeathersbeeRay Funeral Home. ation will be Saturday morning from 9:0010:30 at the funeral home.

Born February 11, 1925 in Girard, TX, Buddy was a son of the late James Albert, Sr. and Edith Imogene Jones Gallagher. Buddy was a lifelong resident of Kent County. He graduated from Jayton High School and attended Texas Tech University. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII from 19431945 and upon his return married Jannis Hunnicutt on September 10, 1945 in Jayton. He worked for Mobile Oil as a field supervisor for thirtythree years. He liked oil painting and carpentry. Buddy was a fifty year member of the Masonic Lodge and attended the Church of Christ in Jayton. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jannis in 2006, a daughter Suewellyn Turner, three sisters, Mozelle Ray Wade, Vesta Maxine Wade and Jonelle Brandon, and a brother Billie Jones Gallagher.

Buddy is survived by two daughters, Johanna Gallagher of Ruidoso, NM and NaRae Gallagher of Ruidoso, NM a brother and sisterinlaw, Jerry Dan and Evelyn Gallagher four grandchildren, Scott Lynn Turner and his wife Miranda, Shad Lee Turner, Samara Keller and her husband Steven and Sharon Turner and five greatgrandchildren, Ali Keller, Josh Keller, Maya Keller, Evangeline Turner and Kenna Turner.

The family has requested that donations be made to the Sammy Baugh Children39s Home in Jayton. .
