ROTAN BENJAMIN FRANKLIN SONNY WHITE,Sr., 79, passed away Sunday December 22, 2013, at Fisher County hospital. Graveside services will be Thursday December 26, 2013 at Belvieu Cemetery under the ion of WeathersbeeRay Funeral Home. He will be carried to the cemetery by his grandchildren, April, Brandy, Belia, Whitney, Molly, Olivia, Camille, Joey, Khristopher, Jeremy, Kyle, Jonathan, Joshua, Justin, Klint, and Jacob. Born September 17, 1934 in Scurry County, TX, Sonny was a son of the late A.L. and Addie White White. He served in the Navy during the Korean War from 19511955. Sonny married Lanell Tucker in Rotan on April 14, 1956. He retired from National Gypsum after fortyfive years and in that time he served as secretary and later president of the Union. Sonny loved being a part of the Fisher County Sheriffs posse, and riding his horse Sunshine. He also liked to weld and work with wood. Sonny is preceded in death by his parents, two brother sG.L. and Buddy White, and three sisters, Annie Paske, Vivian Langis and Josephine Wells.
Sonny is survived by his wife Lanell of Rotan one son, Benjamin Franklin Lynn White, Jr. three daughters and two sonsinlaw, Cindy and Sam Chapman, Pamela and Jim Clark and Myra DuPont and her companion Kevin Stumpe one brother, Donald White one sister, Christine Baker sixteen grandchildren twentyfour greatgrandchildren, and two greatgreat grandchildren numerous nieces and nephews.
