Betty Simmons

Rotan- Betty Louise Simmons, 83, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022, in Sweetwater.  Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2022, in the Belvieu Cemetery.   Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday March 19, 2022, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel.

Born May 22, 1938, in Fannin County, TX,  Betty was the daughter of the late Herman and Ella (Grady) Malone.  She married the love of her life Gus Simmons on October 2, 1956, in Bakersfield, CA.  Betty worked in Fisher County as an LVN for many years before working for Rotan ISD in the cafeteria.  She enjoyed working in the flower beds, collecting rocks, and quilting.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gus Simmons; grandson, Leyland Edward Simmons and granddaughter, Beth Simmons Campbell.

Survivors include three sons: Alfred Simmons, Everett Simmons, and James Simmons; and one granddaughter, Hailee Simmons.
