Billy Gale Polk

Billy Gale Polk, a long time farmer and rancher, passed away on June 22, 2025, in Commerce, Texas, at the age of 78. Born on October 27, 1946 in Rotan, Texas. He was a custom harvester who traveled many states, enjoying the journey and the chance to meet new people along the way. Billy loved hearing their stories, forming connections with those he encountered throughout his travels.

One of Billy's greatest joys was his beloved John Deere tractor. He often remarked that as long as he was seated on it, he had never come across a hole he couldn’t get out of. This lighthearted perspective reflected his optimistic nature and ability to find joy in his work.

Billy is survived by his son, Billy Dewayne; daughter, Tracie Herod; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbara McKinney. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ottie and Estelle Polk, and brother, Morris Caud Polk.

A graveside service will be held on June 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan, Texas. This will be a time for family and friends to gather and share memories of a man who touched many lives through his dedication and kindness. Billy's spirit will live on in the stories he shared and the people he loved.
