Billy Terry

Billy Ray Terry was born on June 1, 1927 to Pink Terry and Orpha Stuart Terry outside of Roby, on the "family's home place". He was the 7th of 8 children. He married Thana Lee Young, daughter of George and Lizzie Young on September 19,1952. They had one daughter Dianna and one son Steve. Billy passed from this life on February 16, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pink and Orpha Terry, his wife Thana Terry, 2 brothers, Thurman Terry and LK Terry both of Roby, and 2 sisters, Merry Lou Fuller and Juanita Terry both of Roby. He is mourned by his brothers Cullen Terry and Dono Terry and his sister Dorothy Guelker.

Billy was a member of the Church of Christ in Roby and had served in the United States Air Force. He and his wife Thana farmed in Fisher county until he retired. He loved his grandkids and great-grandchildren. They were his life. He never missed a sporting event of any of the kids as long as he could go. When he couldn't get in the stands anymore he would drive up sometimes 2 hours early to get a parking spot so that he could watch either at a school sporting event or the kids participate in rodeo.

Billy will always be loved and missed by his daughter Dianna Riggan and husband Tim Riggan of Snyder, his son Steve Terry and and wife Teresa of Roby. Grandchildren Becky Terry, Julie Lyon and her husband Austin all of Roby, Chris Terry of Mansfield, Russell Riggan and his wife Kendall, and Stoni Brooke Riggan all of Snyder and Tyler Riggan and wife Amy of Lubbock. In later years he especially loved his great grand children Bradley Terry, Dekan Lyon, Kason Lyon, of Roby and Kynlee Riggan and Rhett Riggan of Snyder. It gave him much joy watching them in playing sporting evens or just watching play on his fun machine. He will be missed by many family and friends!

There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, February 18 at 3:00 pm at the Roby Cemetery.
