Celia Rodriguez

Celia Quintanilla Rodriguez passed away November 12, 2020, in Abilene. Visitation will be Monday, November 16th from 10:00 am until 6 pm at Iglesia Bautista Israel, 1660 Roosevelt Street in Abilene. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at the First Baptist Church in Rotan.  Burial will follow in Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.

Born July 14, 1930, Celia was the daughter of the late Carmen (Soliz) and Rafael Quintanilla.  She was a housekeeper and homemaker who worked for Banyon Corporation for 30 years.

Celia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Santiago Rodriguez; her daughter, Gloria Rodriguez; and grandson, Oscar Gonzales, Jr.

She is survived by four sons, Ernest Rodriguez, Manuel Rodriguez, Adolfo Rodriguez, and Santiago Rodriguez, Jr. (wife Jennifer); one daughter, Esther Mejia (husband-Roberto Mejia) 23 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
