Derwayne Rasco

Derwayne Rasco, a dedicated Christian man and a respected member of his community, passed away on April 30, 2026. Born on September 19, 1937, in Mitchell County, Texas, Derwayne devoted his life to farming and the values he held dear.

Derwayne began his career in the dairy business before transitioning to a fulfilling life as a farmer. His commitment to his faith was evident through his many years of service as a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Roby. He was also an active participant in his church’s activities, embodying steadfast devotion and leadership. Additionally, he was a proud member of the Fisher County Rodeo Association, where his love for local traditions and community engagement was warmly recognized.

Derwayne completed his education through high school and carried the lessons learned throughout his life with humility and grace. Those who knew him remember a man whose faith guided him, who worked tirelessly and lived with purpose.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Rasco, and his son, Shad Rasco. They, along with many others, carry forward the legacy Derwayne leaves behind. He was preceded in death by his parents, Prentice and Elizabeth Rasco, and his son, Shanon Rasco.

A graveside service will be held on May 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Roby Cemetery in Roby, Texas. Friends and family are invited to come together in remembrance of a life well-lived, honoring Derwayne’s enduring spirit and the enduring mark he made on those who loved him.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Derwayne and Barbara Rasco Scholarship Fund at Tarleton State University.
