Donal Ray Barnes (also known as Papa) was born on January 1, 1935 to Mary Violet and Amos

Barnes in McCauley, Texas. He concluded his life journey at his home in Mineral Wells, Texas

on October 3, 2026.

He married Gail Loving Barnes on December 31, 1954 in Sweetwater, Texas and they were

married until her death in March 2025.

He is survived by his daughter, Monea Barnes; grandson Heath Moody and his wife Candice; grandson Dillon Storey; great-grandson Ty Moody; greatgranddaughter Tatum Moody; and many extended family members.

His granddaughter Danielle Moody preceded him in death.

Papa loved his family, immediate and extended. He did his best to look out for and provide for

his wife, daughter and his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will always be

remembered as the best and greatest Papa.

Services for Donal will be 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan, Texas with burial to follow in Belvieu Cemetery.
