ROTAN- DOROTHY LOUISE (COX) BURROW, 94, passed away Monday, February 16, 2015, in Rotan. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2015, at the Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Born July 3, 1920, in Meridian, Texas, Dorothy was the daughter of Henry Lewis and Hulda Lois (Wickman) Cox. She graduated from Rotan High School, and married the love of her life, Carlton Burrow, on October 16, 1939, in Rotan. Dorothy was very active in the Rotan community, serving as a Girl Scout leader, a member of the Rotan VFD Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Fisher County RV Club. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Rotan. A homemaker, she was very proud of her family, and never missed a sporting event her children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren were participating in. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and crafts. Dorothy never missed an opportunity to stop and shop at a Wal-Mart, a trait she passed on to her daughters and granddaughters.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Carlton Burrow, her parents, Henry and Hulda Cox, and two great-granddaughters, Tiffany Smith and Chelsea Wright.
She is survived by two daughters, Glenda Wright of Rotan, and Myra Robertson of Baird; four grandchildren, Tommy Wright, CW Robertson and his wife, Marcia, Vikki Smith and her husband, Ricky, and Keri Goodwin and her husband, Rusty; eight great-grandchildren, Cody Smith and Meagan Rountree, Michael Smith, Justin Wright and Brandi Phillips, Ashley Wright and Cody Green, Joanna Robertson, Kristian Robertson, Raelyn Goodwin, and Tyson Goodwin; and three great-great-grandchildren, Hailey Wright, Kenzie Wright, and Gunner Green.
