Dorothy Guelker

Dorothy Glynn was born November 19, 1928, to Pink and Orpha Terry.  She passed from this life June 16, 2022, at the age of 93.  Dorothy attended the Roby School system and graduated from Roby High School in 1946.  She became a hair stylist after graduation and operated her business, Dorothy’s Beauty Bar, for over 50 years.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022, at 6:00 PM at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel.  A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, Roby Cemetery with Aaron Solis officiating.

Dorothy married E.M. (Bud) Guelker on December 17, 1955.  They were married fifty-three years until Bud’s passing on October 13, 2009.  Bud and Dorothy lived in Roby throughout their marriage.  They raised two sons Terry Scott Guelker and Joe Don Guelker, both of whom reside in Roby.  She was a member of the Roby Church of Christ and served on the Roby Cemetery Landscape Board for many years.  Dorothy loved shopping with her mother, Orpha Terry and her sisters Juanita Terry and Merry Lou Fuller, as well as several of her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two sisters, Merry Lou Fuller and Laura Juanita Terry.  Also, her five brothers, Thurman Terry, Cullen Terry, Kirmet Terry, Dono Terry, Billy Terry and their spouses.  She is survived in life by her two sons, Terry Scott Guelker and Joe Don Guelker (Rhonda D.); granddaughters, Caitlin Clanton (Dustin) and Kendall Moses; as well as numerous relatives.
