Dorothy Starnes

Dorothy Lavrne Starnes passed away December 3, 2022 in Granbury, Texas. Services will be 10:00am, Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel in Rotan, Texas, with burial to follow in Belvieu Cemetery. There will be a visitation prior to the service starting at 9:00am at the Funeral Home.

Lavrne was born March 7, 1928 in Fisher County to Lester James Whitley and Dona Pearl (Woolf) Whitely. She married Henry Starnes on September 13, 1947. Lavrne was a homemaker and loved her family dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry Starnes in 1992; son, Ronnie Starnes in 1984; sisters, Carolyn Taylor, Charlene Starnes, and Sue Spivey; and brothers, J.L. (Son) Whitley, Gerald Whitley, and Ossice Whitley.

Lavrne is survived by four brothers, Wayne (LaNell) Whitley of Granbury, Benny (Alice) Whitley of Santo, Steve of Waco, and Danny (Susan) Whitley of Azle; two sisters, Margaret Kingston of Aubrey, and Mary Upshaw of Colorado City; and many nieces and nephews.
