ROTAN Elizabeth Ann Gardner Hart, 82, passed away on November 25, 2012 at Stonewall Memorial Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday November 27, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Aspermont with Pastor Erik Lankford officiating under the ion of WeathersbeeRay Funeral Home.
Born July 24, 1930 in Stonewall County, Elizabeth was a daughter of the late James Arthur and Mary Lena King Gardner. Elizabeth graduated from Hardin Simmons University with a degree in Education. She married Thomas Dick Hart on August 20, 1954 at Dicks parents home in Stonewall County. She lived and taught school in Scurry County for thirty years and later moved to Stonewall County and taught school in Jayton and Clairemont. Elizabeth loved to fish and was well known as a cook for all the ranch hands. No one ever went hungry. Elizabeth was a member of the First Baptist Church of Aspermont. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, Lee and Jack Gardner, and a sister Lydia Knott.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter and soninlaw, Jodie and Ralph Riddel of Rotan three grandchildren, Ruth Ann Riddel, Ralph Riddel, III, and Sallie Myers and her husband Justin a brotherinlaw, Pete Hart and his wife Carol of Abilene one nephew Carey Gardner and his wife Cecelia three nieces and their husbands, Rita and James Wolf, Sara and Robert Menix , and Karen and Mark Guidry.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Aspermont, P.O. Box 370, Aspermont, Texas 79502. .
