Elsa Yanez

Elsa Rodriguez Yanez, 57 of Rotan, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017, in Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at First Baptist Church of Rotan. Burial will follow in Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan. A prayer service will be held at 7:00pm, Monday, May 1, 2017, at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel in Rotan.
Elsa was born May 13, 1959, in Rotan, to Isaias and Alicia Rodriguez. She lived in Rotan for the majority of her life. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Rotan and also attended the Four Square Church often. Elsa worked in healthcare. She attended TSTC of nursing where she received her LVN. Elsa worked as a traveling nurse for many years. She loved her job, but family was the biggest part of her life. She was kind and loving. She especially loved kids as they seemed to always bring out the nurse in her.
Elsa was preceded in death by her son, Phillip Yanez.
Elsa is survived by her parents; Isaias and Alicia Rodriguez of Rotan; 1 daughter, Jessica Kennedy of Rotan: 1 brother, David Rodriguez of Rotan: 3 sisters, Vera Garcia, and her husband Roman of Harlingen, Texas, Edna Madrano, and her husband Adolpho of Rotan, and Becky Diaz, and her husband Richard of Abilene; 1 grandchild, Hunter Kennedy; and 1 great-grandchild, Aleighah Sanders; and numerous nieces and nephews.
