ESMERALDA TREJO GARCIA, 56, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015, in Abilene. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rotan, with burial following at Belvieu Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2015, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.weathersbeerayfh.com.
Born August 20, 1959, in Rotan, Texas; Esmeralda was the daughter of Celestino and Cristina (Trejo) Sanchez. Her mother died when Esmeralda was an infant, and she was raised by her grandmother, Juanita Trejo. She graduated from Rotan High School in the class of 1979. Esmeralda lived for her grandchildren, and loved spending time with them. She called them every day, without fail. For many years she worked at Family Dollar before having to retire due to medical issues. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching TV and dancing. A lifelong resident of Rotan, she was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Esmeralda is preceded in death by her parents, Celestino and Christina Sanchez; and her grandmother, Juanita Trejo.
She is survived by two sons, Javier Garcia and wife, Tara, of Wichita Falls, and Salvador Garcia and wife, Emilia, of Rotan; one brother, Celestino Sanchez, Jr.; five sisters, Ruthie Rodriguez, Blassie Hernandez, Priscilla Sanchez, Mary Soria, and Suzy Sanchez; and four grandchildren, Salvador Garcia III, Cristian Garcia, Sebastian Garcia, and McKinley Garcia.
