Eva Solis

EVA ORTIZ SOLIS, 93, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016, at a Sweetwater nursing home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Roby Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 pm on Monday, April 4, 2016, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Born July 6, 1922, in LaGrulla, Texas, Eva was the daughter of Esteban and Paula (Lopez) Ortiz. She married Hilario Solis, and moved to Roby in 1959. A homemaker, Eva especially enjoyed gardening and taking care of her chickens. After Hilario passed away, she married Pablo Gauna. Eva was a member of Calvario Baptist Church in Roby.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Hilario Solis and Pablo Gauna; her son, Brunito Solis; her daughter, Bruni Espinoza; her parents, Esteban and Paula Ortiz; and her grandson, Leo Solis, Jr.
Eva is survived by five sons, Augustin James Solis and wife, Lidia, of Roby, Lio Solis and wife, Kate, of Irving, Hilario Solis, Jr., of Roby, Paul Solis and wife, Greta Myers, of Sweetwater, and Steve Solis of Castroville; two daughters, Angie Walden and husband, Lenny, of Lake Hills, and Minnie Obregon and husband, Roger, of San Antonio; twelve grandchildren, Felipa, Adrian, Israel, Esteban, Eva, Efrain, Laura, Michael, James, Marzzerine, Shawn Ray, Erin, and Ashley; and numerous great-grandchildren.
