Frances West

FRANCES JEAN (BRITTAIN) WEST, 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at a Hamlin Nursing Home. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2016, at Belvieu Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 07, 2016, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Born October 20, 1936, Frances was the daughter of Lois Lee (Claxton) and Harold Wilson Brittain. She married the love of her life, George Leon West, on December 24, 1953, in Rotan. Frances graduated from Rotan High School in 1954. The family settled in Rotan after Leon retired from the military. Frances enjoyed shopping, interior design, and watching HGTV. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Frances is preceded in death by her father, Harrold Wilson Brittain; and her mother and step-father, Lois and Milton Teague.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Leon West; two sons, Bobby West (Janet) of El Paso and Alva West (Leah) of Lafayette, LA; three daughters, Helen Marr (Loyd) of Abilene, Debora Parker (Lyn) of Hamlin, and Lorrie Craig (Michael) of Abilene; one brother, William Bradley Brittain (Julia) of Cypress; eighteen grandchildren; and twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
