Gilbert Brown

GILBERT LEE BROWN, 58, passed away Friday, September 18, 2015, at his home in Lubbock. Graveside Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Roby Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Born May 23, 1957, in Iceland, Gilbert was the son of William and Mildred Ruth (Snow) Brown. He graduated from Roby High School, and owned his own business for several years. In 2013, Gilbert moved from Abilene to Lubbock, and began working in construction. When not at work, Gilbert could usually be found on the Golf Course. He was a good cook, who enjoyed bar-b-queing. Above all, Gilbert enjoyed spending time with his children, and never missed any of their activities.
Gilbert is preceded in death by his father, William Brown.
He is survived by his son, Michael Brown and wife, Elizabeth, of Dallas; his daughter, Candice DeSouza and husband, Ron, of Lawton, Oklahoma; and his mother, Mildred Brown.
