Henry Murl McKinney died November 26, 2022 in Hendrick Hospice care in Abilene. He was born May 22, 1927 to Clyde and Clara (Gabel) McKinney in the Pleasant Valley Community. He married Francene Roberts May 5, 1955. He was a member of the First Baptist Church Rotan for over sixty years. Murl served in the Army during World War II. He was a partner in the F and M Chevrolet-Buick dealership. When he retired, he liked to travel, golf, play bridge, canasta, and dominoes.
A celebration of his life will be Monday, November 28, 2022 at the First Baptist Church Rotan at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be at the church prior to the service at 1:00 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Francene; two daughters, Billie Jo Hammit (Dwight) of Sulphur Springs, and Susie Howell of Southlake; two sons, Monte McKinney of Rotan and Scot McKinney (Ramona) of Abilene; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; a daughter-in-law, Dihna McKinney; and a great grandson, Caden Balusek.
