Jimmy G. Hardin, resident of Robstown, Texas formerly of Rotan, Texas passed away on August 8, 2016 peacefully at the age of 84 years. In Scurry County Jimmy was born October 4, 1931 to Lester E. and Bertie Lee Hardin. He was one of their nine boys raised on rough Creek. He married JoVetta Heleman on Nov 25, 1950. They were married just shy of 48 years. Jimmy worked most of his life as a pipe fitter, contractor and small business owner here in the Corpus Christ Area. He was an avid small farmer and rancher. He enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his many grandchildren and great grand, and great great grandchildren.
Jimmy never met a stranger. He was known for always having a smile on his face and a joke right behind it.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life JoVetta, his parents, and five brothers. He is survived by his children Evona Adickes and husband Ben, Jimmy Wayne Hardin and wife Teeshia, Lester Hardin and wife Candie, Teressa Ford and husband Randy, and Michael Hardin. Grandchildren: Shawn Walston and husband Joe, Bennie Adickes and wife Lisa, Sheila Hardin, Darin Woodson and wife Casey, Christopher Ford and wife Evangeline, Sara Wall and husband Charles, Connor Hardin and wife Ashley, Samantha Hardin, Misty Hardin, and Kassie Hardin. Great grandchildren: Elizabeth Stephens and husband Mark, Joe Walston and wife Reba, Megan Stone, Matthew Stone, Ashley Adickes, Amber Adickes, William Woodson, Madelyn Woodson, Wyatt Wall, Nikki Bartels, Alexis Mireles, Katelyn Hardin, and Kaleb Hardin. 7 great great grandchildren with 3 more expected before the end of the year.
He attended church at Covenant Baptist Church and danced four days a week.
