JoRetta Allen

JoRetta Allen, a beloved homemaker, passed away on May 26, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on May 8, 1959, in Rotan, Texas, JoRetta was known for her sweet and loving nature. She attended high school and pursued some college, yet her true calling was found in her dedication to her family.

JoRetta enjoyed various hobbies, showcasing her talent in sewing and quilting. She also had a passion for baking, which brought joy to many. In her leisure time, she loved fishing and hunting, activities that connected her with the beauty of the outdoors.

She is survived by her husband, Tommy Allen, and their four daughters: Melinda Jo Madison, Patrenda Jolyn Hughes, Holly Heffernan, and Ashley Dawn Allen. JoRetta also leaves behind her mother, Merlene Allen, and her brother, James Allen. She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren and a great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren.

JoRetta was preceded in death by her father, James E. Allen.

Visitation for JoRetta will be May 30, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Weathersbee Ray Funeral Home in Rotan, Texas. A graveside service will follow at Belvieu Cemetery at 2:00 PM.

Her warmth and nurturing spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
