Juanita Roye

SAN JUANITA "JANIE" ROYE, 58, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016, at a Lubbock hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the Roby Church of Christ, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Born March 28, 1957, in Brownsville, Texas; Janie was the daughter of Ernesto and Maria de Jesus Herrera Garcia. She lived and worked as an LVN in Lubbock for most of her life. On June 19, 1999, she married the love of her life, Donnie Roye, in Lubbock. The couple moved to Casa Grande, Arizona, in 2011, and to Roby in 2014. In her spare time, Janie enjoyed caring for outdoor animals, especially a number of feral cats she befriended in Roby. She also enjoyed gardening and crocheting. Janie was an avid bible reader who spent a lot of time in prayer. She was a member of the Roby Church of Christ.
Janie is preceded in death by her sister, Maria Guadalupe Rodriguez, and her mother, Maria Garcia.
She is survived by her husband, Donnie Roye of Roby; one son, Mario Soto and wife, Lolly, of Lubbock; two daughters, Monica Ojeda and husband, Victor, of Lubbock, and Maribel Soto of Lubbock; a step-son, Stephen Roye of Lubbock; her father, Ernesto Garcia; four grandchildren, Marisol, Amerie, Andrew, and Everleigh; three brothers; three sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, former patients, and beloved friends.
