Juanita Underhill

BERTHA JUANITA (ALLEN) UNDERHILL, 85, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015, at an Abilene hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at the First Baptist Church of Roby, with burial following at Belvieu Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015.

Born April 6, 1930, in Bisbee, Arizona, Juanita was the daughter of Othel and Bertha (Terrell) Allen. Her family moved to Rotan when she was a junior in High School, and she graduated from Rotan High School in the class of 1948. She worked for McDonald-Douglas Aircraft for several years, which took her to Alaska and California. In 1972, she moved back to Rotan, and in August of 1975, she married Charles Underhill. She worked as an LVN, and was the director of nursing for the Fisher County Nursing Homes in Rotan. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, watching her grandchildren, and visiting with the ladies in the Heritage House. Juanita was a member of the First Baptist Church of Roby.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Underhill; her parents, Othel (Bob) and Bertha Allen; her sister, May Pharris; her brother, James Allen; and her great-granddaughter, Haleigh Autumn Throgmorton.
Juanita is survived by three daughters, Patricia "Pat" Boone-Rodriquez and husband, Chris Rodriquez of Alpine, Adrianna Cox and husband, John, of Sweetwater; and Phiny Posey and husband, Jeff, of Roby; seven grandchildren, Jerri-Lynn Throgmorton, Shannon Harrison, Christopher Boone, Stuart Posey, Joe Posey, Stefan Cox, and Cameron Cox; ten great-grandchildren, Alex Harrison, Sidnee Harrison, Cory Throgmorton, Keandra Harrison, Russell Harrison, Cade Throgmorton, Corbin Throgmorton, Fisher Boone, Hunter Boone, and Laikyn Posey; one great-great-grandson, Jaxon Harrison; sister-in-law Merlene Allen; four step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
