Linda Beth Simmons

Linda Beth (Daniel) Simmons died October 1, 2023 at Sweetwater Healthcare. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday at 1:00 PM in Roby Cemetery. Service directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.

Linda was born on November 10, 1948 in Roby, Texas to Hubert Preston and Elsie Ardenia (Long) Daniel. She was the tenth of thirteen children born to Hubert and Elsie. Each of those brothers and sisters held a special place in her heart.

Linda married Eddie Ray Simmons on December 20, 1972 and together they raised four children. She was a stay-at-home mom and wife all her life. Her absolute favorite thing in the whole world was being Grandmama.

Survivors include three daughters and three sons-in-law, Laura and James Kelley of Abernathy, Sheila and Joe Gorgonio of McMurray, Pa., and Tanya and Jonas Deemer of Kansas City, Kansas; one son, Joshua Simmons of Sweetwater; one sister, Gaylon Freeman of Rotan and one brother, Vernon Daniel of Virginia Beach, Virginia; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and more nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces than we can count.

Linda is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, six brothers, and four sisters.
