Perry was a son of the late Robert Grundy and Lucy Alberta Bertie Clegg Thomson. Perry was a very active, lifelong resident of Fisher County. He graduated from Hobbs High School in the class of 1956. He married Rheta Hendrix on July 15, 1956 she passed away in 2000. Perry served his country in the Army and received an Associates degree in business management from Western Texas College. He farmed and worked for the City of Rotan. Perry was also a manager for West Texas Utilities until he retired after twentysix years. A very active citizen, Perry served as a county commissioner, on the Fisher County Hospital board, he was a member of the Lions Club, and a volunteer fireman for fifty years. He became chief in 1976 and was a past president of the State Firemen Fire Marshal Association of the Midwest District and was honored as District Fireman of the year for 19891990. Perry married Linda Baker Martin on July 28, 2001 in Rotan. He loved to fish, take all the kids and their friends waterskiing , and hunting. Perry was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Rotan and Roby and later joined the First Baptist Church in Roby in 2011. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Rheta in 2000, one brother, R.L. Thomson and four sisters, Mary Boydston, Dorothy Head, Laura Elene Goodrum, and Delia Hardin.
Perry is survived by his wife Linda Thomson of Abilene two sons and daughtersinlaw, Perry Paul, Jr. and Cathy Thomson of Anson and Eddie and Bonnie Thomson of Anson a daughter and soninlaw, Sharolette and Garry Wester of Quito, Ecuador three stepchildren, Monica Moore and her husband Jonathan, Andrea Shore and her husband Gerry and Chris Romo and his wife Ticia one brother and sisterinlaw, Melvin and Velma Thomson two sisters, Thelma Burk and Lillian Rister thirteen grandchildren, and five greatgrandchildren and his sisterinlaw, Josephine Thomson and his faithful companion, Nikki.
