Santana Yanez, age 66, was peacefully called home on March 17, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his many friends and family in the days preceding his death, a testament to the lives he touched and the influence he had while on earth. Funeral Mass will be 1:00 pm Friday, March 24, 2023 at the Saint Joseph Catholic Church on Rotan, Texas. A rosary will held 7:00 pm Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Santana was born on May 29, 1956 in Rotan, Texas to Thomas and Anita Yanez. He was in the US Air Force, stationed in Germany, and later graduated from Texas Tech University with a Masters in marketing. Santana was a proud Red Raider. He loved to travel and appreciated experiencing the beauty of the world and all it had to offer. He worked internationally in five countries and numerous cities across the United States, making lifetime friends and impacting countless lives along the way.
Santana is preceded in death by his mother, father, niece, Jennifer Yanez and nephew, James Yanez.
He is survived by his wife, Myreilly and daughter, Julya, his brothers, and sisters: Thomas (Gloria), Lee (Mary), Marselina Yanez, Anita Yanez, and Anthony Yanez, as well as his nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and countless cousins and many friends.
He will be missed by all that were lucky enough to know him.
