Sherrie Rodgers

SHERRIE LYNN (McCRIGHT) RODGERS, 61, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at her home in Rotan. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church of Rotan, with burial following at Belvieu Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Born October 28, 1954, at the Callan Hospital in Rotan, Sherrie was the daughter of William Thomas and Amaleeta (Willhite) McCright. She grew up in Royston, and attended school in McCaulley. On July 11, 1970, she married the love of her life, Randy Rodgers, at Rotan. A lifelong Fisher County resident, Sherrie worked at WTU for sixteen years, then at Fisher County Hospital for thirteen years. Sherrie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rotan.
She is preceded in death by her parents, W.T. and Amaleeta McCright; her sister, Nadene Stevens, and her nephew, Toney Mitchell.
Sherrie is survived by her husband of forty-five years, Randy Rodgers; one son, Shayne Rodgers and his wife, Chastity; two brothers, Jerry McCright and wife, Charlene, and Larry McCright and wife, Sandra; one sister, Debbie Mitchell and husband, Leonard; one grandson, Ethan Rodgers and his wife, Nikki; two granddaughters, Staci Broussard and her husband, Wayne, and Channing Rodgers; great-grandchildren Brayden, Brooklynn, Zachary, and Hayden; and numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
