Vela Smith

Vela was a daughter of the late Charles Humphrey and Emma Stuart Moore. Vela was a 1930 graduate of the Roby High School. She married Franklin Smith in Phoenix, AZ on July 6, 1934. Vela was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the First Baptist Church of Roby. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and loved them all. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1996, four brothers J.P., Hue, Wayne, and Ramon Moore, three sisters, Emma Sue Moore, Ruth Weaver, and Jo Fields, three sistersinlaw, Evelene Moore, Carlene Moore, and Daphene Moore.

Vela is survived by four daughters and two sonsinlaw, Darlene and James Carter of Rotan, Janice and Duane Brown of Gig Harbor, WA, Frankie Young of Ft. Worth, and Sally Murff of Junction ten grandchildren, 20 greatgrandchildren five greatgreatgrandchildren three brothers and two sistersinlaw, Kyle and Rose Moore of Roby, Kenneth Moore of Easterly, TX, and Neil and Darlene Moore of Sweetwater two sistersinlaw, Reba Moore of Abilene, and Jessie Moore Burleson of Roby and numerous nieces and nephews. .
