Vicente Ortega

Vicente Ortega, passed away on September 24, 2025, on his 57th birthday. Born on September 24, 1968, in Rotan, Texas, Vicente grew up with a strong sense of family and a work ethic that was evident throughout his life.

After graduating from Rotan High School, Vicente pursued a career as a farm worker, a prison guard, and a truck driver, embodying the qualities of diligence and resilience. He was known for his crafty nature, always finding creative solutions to problems and making the best out of every situation. Most importantly, Vicente cared deeply for his family, always putting their needs first.

Vicente is survived by his loving sisters: Lucy Olguin, Graciela Fausto, Sandra Ortega, twins, Maria Elena Reyes and Maria Eliza Vela. He cherished his relationships with them and shared many joyful moments together. In addition to his sisters, Vicente leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Narciso and Marie (Montez) Ortega, and his brothers, Narciso Ortega Jr., Moises Ortega, and Ricky Ortega. Vicente’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Service will be 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 16, 2025 in Belvieu Cemetery.
