ROTAN WILLIAM HARL CELVELAND, SR, 83, died Saturday May 12, 2012 at the Fisher County Assisted Living facility. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday May 15, 2012 at the Church of Christ in Rotan. Burial will follow at Belvieu Cemetery under the ion of WeathersbeeRay Funeral Home. ation will be Monday evening from 6:007:00 at the funeral home.

Born October 18, 1928 in the Pleasant Valley Community, William was a son of the late Samuel Dalton and Stella Moize Cleveland. William was a lifelong resident of Fisher County and the last student to graduate from Dowell High School. William was a corporal in the Army during the Korean War and served in the Corps of Engineers in Newfoundland. He married Sue Eaton on September 29, 1953 in New Mexico. William was very active in his community serving on the board of ors of the Rotan Gin for over twenty years was a member of the Jaycees, served on the board of ors for the Fisher County Farm Bureau for several years and was a member of the Church of Christ where he served as a deacon. William was a retired farmer and was a big supporter of the Rotan Yellowhammers and Texas Tech Red Raiders. He liked to restore old tractors and enjoyed woodworking. He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Dalton, Norman, Eugene, and Lewis Cleveland, and three sisters, Bessie Cleveland, Annis Joplin, and Stella Mash.

William is survived by his wife Sue of Rotan four children and their spouses, Cleve and Kelli Cleveland of Rotan, Pamela Titzell and her husband Paul of Lubbock, Lynda Shue and her husband Craig of Flower Mound and Diane Smith and her husband Doug of Midland one brother, John Cleveland of Roby one sister, Ruth Riddles of Lewisville seven grandchildren, Gareth Pipes and his wife Samantha of Rotan, Allison Swan and her husband Clayton of Lubbock, Alexis Keys and her husband Chris of Stanton, Riley Dunham of Midland, Tyler Smith of Midland, Madison Smith of Midland, Joshua Lee Barford of Rotan and two greatgrandchildren, Kennedy Keys of Stanton and Paxton Pipes of Rotan.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the White River Christian Youth Group P.O. Box 455 Crosbyton, TX 79322 or the Church of Christ in Rotan P.O. Box 427 Rotan, TX 79546. .
