Barry Hendrix

Midland, Texas

Barry Hendrix went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, Aug 2, 2021 at the age of 52.

Barry was the son of Carl Hendrix and Neta Smith and was born on February 16, 1969 in Hobbs, New Mexico.  He was the youngest of three boys.

Barry was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Clarence Hendrix and Jo Hendrix Warren; maternal grandparents: Martin and Mabel Warren, step-father: Doug Smith, and step mother: Frances Hendrix.

Before beginning his career as an electronics technician, he attended Texas State Technical College where he studied robotics.  He was an employee of Advanced Stimulator Technology where he worked for many years.  Known to most of his co-workers as “Sparky,” he was a loyal employee who always worked hard and strived to be the best.  Barry loved the outdoors and found joy anytime he got to go hunting, fishing, or camping.  He also loved to scuba dive and water ski.  While these things brought him joy, he loved more so being a father and a grandfather.  As a father and grandfather he wanted nothing more than his children to know that they were loved and to know what it meant to be a hard worker.

Barry is survived by his beloved: Caroline; daughter: Allie Sherman and husband Mitch of Odessa, TX; son: Baron Hendrix and wife Amber of Midland, TX; step children: Justine and Haylie of Odessa ; father: Carl Hendrix of Helena, MT; mother: Neta Smith of Midland, TX; brothers: Max Hendrix and wife Kimla of Jacksonville, FL; Bobby Hendrix and wife Masie of Snyder, TX; grandchildren: Kyleigh, Kyrain, Baron Jr., Athena, Drake, Jazmyn, and Nathan; and numerous  aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Max Hendrix, Bobby Hendrix, Baron Hendrix, Danny Jones, Eddie Thomson, and Paul Perry.

An outdoor service and burial will be held Friday August 13, 2021 at 2:00pm at the Rotan Cemetery with Danny Jones officiating.  Services are under the direction of Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home of Rotan, TX.  The family will be available before and after the services at the cemetery in order to greet guests.
