Carol Floyd

March 14, 1940 — August 5, 2021

Carol Beth Floyd went to her heavenly home Thursday, August 5, 2021. Services will be 2:00 pm at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, August 9, 2021, with burial to follow in Belvieu Cemetery. There will be a visitation for family and friends on Monday, August 9, 2021, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.

Carol was born March 14, 1940, to Chester and Lora Stephens. She grew up in North Roby and Rotan. Carol was a Yellowhammer Cheerleader and member of the Yellowhammer Band. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard Floyd Jr. on December 12, 1957. Carol started her married life in Sweetwater but moved to San Angelo to raise her kids. In San Angelo, Carol was a seamstress. She made all the preforming and traveling clothes for the Central High Twirlers. Once Carol and Richard’s children were raised, they moved to the family farm in Bernecker, Texas. Carol started working with Special Education students at Roscoe ISD. She helped a lot of kids get through graduation. Carol’s hobbies were cooking, sewing, crochet, and playing the piano.

Carol is preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-three years; her parents; one sister; Daphne (Harry) Canel; two brothers, Merle (Peggy) Stephens and Terry Floyd; and one sister, Gloria Floyd.

Carol is survived by her children; Ricky and Elaine Floyd of Fairfield, Pennsylvania, and Denese and Robbie Hoffman of Rotan; three grandchildren; Bobby Hoffman of Bernecker, Beth Hoffman of Plainview, and Nicholas Floyd of Boerne; one great grandson Nate Jones of Bernecker; and one brother, Gary Floyd of Rotan.

Memorials may be made to the Jayton Nursing Center or an organization of your choice.

Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home will be open from 1:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, August 8, 2021, for viewing.
