Charlie Horton

Charlie Horton, 86, of Roby passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021. Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at 1:00 PM in the Roby Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.

Born November 3, 1934, in Rotan, Charlie was the son of the late Barney and Jimmie Horton.

He married Wanda Palmer on December 25, 1952, in Roby, Texas. Together they raised two children, Tina D’Ann and Bradly Lane. Charlie and Wanda were happily married for over sixty-eight years. Charlie worked for Big County Electric for many years. He was a member of the Mason 704 for over fifty years. After retirement he enjoyed coffee with his friends twice daily.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Wanda; daughter, Tina Johnson and husband Butch; son, Brad Horton and fiancé Shannon; four grandchildren; Tiffany Glover Ivey(Coty), T’Lar Myres (Andrew), Krista Horton(Curtis), and Laura Horton (Ethan); six great grandchildren, Sierra and Cooper Ivey, Trase and Gracelyn Myers, and Harland and Aristeia Worthum; sister, Joan Burch; and very special friends, the Chavez family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Sally Pace; and nephew, Reggie Parks.
