Frank B. Garcia, 83, of Jayton, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2020 at Whisperwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am. Thursday, February 20, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rotan; burial will follow in Jayton Cemetery.  Visitation and rosary services will be held from 6-7pm, Wednesday, February 19, 2020 in the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel; the rosary reading will be from 6 to 7 pm.

Francisco B. Garcia was born October 10, 1936, in Tahoka, TX, to Pedro Hasbrook Garcia and Dominga Berlanga.  He married the love of his life, Audelia “Lydia” Martinez on December 23, 1953, in Clairmont, TX.  Frank and Lydia had 64 wonderful years together.  Side by side, they walked through this life.  He loved telling their story.  Frank loved his family and was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He was hardworking, selfless and honest.  He taught his children the value of hard work and to always have compassion for others along the way.  Frank never met a stranger.  He gave everyone directions to his house, so they could come visit.  He was always ready and willing to help others.  He was ready with advice should anyone need it, and he would give it to them straight.  He was someone that was dependable and could always be counted on no matter the situation.  He loved his food and was happiest when cooking a big barbecue for others to enjoy. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and active with his Catholic Church.  He was a volunteer fireman.  He was a cotton farmer and was a cotton variety tester for the Texas A&M Agriculture Extension Center. He won numerous awards for exceeding their expectation level.  Frank was an innovative thinker and problem solver.   He was a fixer of anything and a collector of all things.   He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lydia and daughter, Cindy.

Survived by His Children:  Alex Garcia and his wife Stella, Celia Land, Frank Garcia Jr. and his wife Virginia, Yolanda Garcia and her husband Phillip, Christina Tacquard and her husband Martin;  Douglas Conway (Son-in-law);  Grandchildren:  David Garcia, Mark Garcia and his wife Blace, Josh Land his wife Francis, Jeremy Land and his wife Emily, Jared Land, Johnny Land, Mark Luther and his wife Katie, Desiree Creel and her husband Cory, Chyanne, Chastity, and Dylan Garcia,  Douglas II, Andrew Conway and wife Faith, Brianna Ramirez and her husband Justin; Great-grandchildren:  Landry and Victoria Garcia, Autumn and Joshua Land, Chancie, Beckett and Khaleesi Land, Savannah and Owen Luther, Lillyann Creel, Braxton, Mason, and Brylee Ramirez, Alice and Jess Conway.
