Glenna Crow

December 17, 1924 — February 19, 2021

Glenna Mae Crow, 96, passed away Friday, February 19, 2021 in Dallas, Texas.

Born December 17, 1924 in Port Arthur, Texas, Glenna was the only child of the late George and Minnie (Aaron) Zimmerman. They moved to their farm south of Rotan in 1937. Glenna graduated from Rotan High School in 1943 and married her high school sweetheart Andrew Calvin Crow on July 9, 1946.

She was a member of the Rotan Church of Christ serving in the greeting card ministry, volunteering at the clothes closet and nursing home while growing in her faith in Jesus and love for her family and community. She was happy to be a farmer’s wife, a loving daughter and mother. In her last 12 years she enjoyed church services and music programs at the Heritage House in Rotan and The Traymore in Dallas. She was still a competitive domino player at 95 and shared stories of her youth in Port Arthur and her west Texas farm life with her new friends in Dallas. She will be remembered for her sharp wit, saying “If I’m not talking, you better be checking on me”. Glenna was present and accounted for, facing each day with a smile and a song.

Preceded in death by her parents and husband, Glenna is survived by her daughter, Laura and husband Trent Williams of Dallas; brother-in-law, Billie Wayne and wife, Sue Crow of Brownwood; sisters-in-law, Margie Crow of Euless, Virginia Crow of Amarillo and Bonnie Stevens of Garland; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday February 24, 2021 at Belvieu Cemetery under the direction of Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. Ted Posey of the Roby Church of Christ will officiate. A visitation at the funeral home will start at 1:00 p.m. with funeral procession from there to the cemetery.
