Martin Ortiz

Martin Ortiz, 58, passed away January 24, 2021, in Abilene.  Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021, in Belvieu Cemetery.  Rosary will be 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel.

Born July 7, 1962, in Rotan, Martin was the son of the late Manuel and Socorro Ortiz.  He graduated high school in 1981 and worked in construction for 16 years and drove a truck for Engram Concrete for the past 8 years.  Martin was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.  He enjoyed going fishing and hunting.  Martin was a family man, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Martin is preceded in death by his parents, daughter (Latisha), siblings, Jesusita Leyva, Juanita Munoz and husband (Rodrigo), Maria Rodriguez, Trinidad McGough and husband (Terry) and Santos Ortiz.

Martin is survived by his wife, Lisa Ortiz; children, Manuel Bryan Ortiz (Quinn), Garrett Ortiz (Andrea), and daughter, Nicole Ortiz; grandchildren, Manuel Bryan Ortiz II, Lilly Ortiz, Cloe Ortiz, Marcus Ortiz, Olivia Ortiz, Kalumbys Ortiz, and Marcello Ortiz; brothers Manuel Ortiz (Janie), Guadalupe Ortiz (Pam); brother-in-law, Jose Leyva and Lupe Rodriguez.
