Minnie Rivas

Minnie C. Rivas, 85, of Roby, Texas passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023. Services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel in Rotan with burial to follow in Palava Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation prior to the service starting at 10:00 am.

Minnie was born August 16, 1937 in San Antonio to the late Alfredo and Elvira Casias. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother that was devoted to her family. She enjoyed going to church and listening to music. Minnie worked for Roby Schools for over forty years. She will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons. Joe Rivas and Carlos Rivas; grandson Mariano Gomez; and sisters Patsy, Mary, Eloisa, and Inez; and one brother, Freddie.

Minnie is survived by her husband of seventy years, Raul “Roy” Rivas; children, Roy and Geneva Rivas, Leticia “Lee” Rivas and Mike, Johnny “JR” and Thelma Rivas, Leonard and Michelle Hernandez, Rachel and William Mello, Stephen “Stevie” and Linda Rivas, and Miguel “Alfred” and Regan Rivas; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; sisters Eva, Lupe, Shirley, and Josie; and brother, Rudy.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Kevin Kelly, Marcie Harris, and the entire staff of the Fisher County Hospital, and to Britt Sipes, Corrie Robinson, and the staff of Fisher County Physical Therapy.
