Pat was born February 21, 1930, in Dermott, Texas as the sixth child out of nine, to James Madison Browning and Ruby Martha Sarah (Sanders) Browning.

During her seventy-five years of life in Fisher County there were many organizations that she was a member of which include (Rotan Church of Christ, Fisher County Historical Commission, Rotan Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron). Of those seventy-five years, there were forty-two years that she worked for Dr. C.M. Callan as his clinic nurse both at the Callan Hospital/Clinic and after the practice was moved to its new home at the Fisher County Hospital District.

Some of Pat’s fondest memories include, hunting arrowheads with Obie, baking some of the best pies in the county (specifically Chocolate), cooking for Buster Welch and “the cowboys”, and winning the Fisher County Fair & Rodeo baking contest, too many years to count, and one of the most cherished of all was being the “Right Hand Lady” for Santa’s Helper for Fisher County for thirty years.

She is proceeded in death by her husband of fifty-years, Obie Gene Kelley; eight of her siblings, Little J.H. Browning, Johnny Sam Browning, James H. “Temp” Browning, Ruby Nell Browning Helms Park, Nealy Don “Rusty” Browning, Ellis Mack “Dick” Browning, & Billy Ray Browning; and one brother-in-law, Billy Tidwell.

Pat is survived by, two sons and daughters-in-law, Obie Gene Jr. and Freda Kelley of Melissa and Nathan and Tammie Kelley of Rotan; one sister, Mary Jane Browning Merritt of Snyder; one sister-in-law, Doris Kelley Tidwell of Rotan; five grandchildren and their spouses, Guy Kelley, Lindy and Jubal Williamson, Cari and Chris Garcie, Beth Murray, Dru & Mitzi Murray; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, special nephew and family, Squatty, Ella Raye, and Whitney Helms, and too many family members to list.
