Peggy Anderson

Peggy (Morgan) Anderson, 86, passed away peacefully July 25, 2021, after a long illness. Graveside service will be 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, in the Roby Cemetery. Directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home in Rotan. There will be a visitation for family and friends on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the funeral home.

Peggy was born June 25, 1935, in Roby, to the late Joe and Iva Morgan. She married Zanna Anderson in 1953 in Lewisville, Arkansas. She loved her family and always enjoyed school activities with her daughters and grandkids. Her passion was working crossword puzzles.

In 1983 Peggy was elected to the board of directors of the Citizens State Bank of Roby. In 1985 she was elected to the board of directors of A & K Bank Shares and served on the loan committee board until 1995 at which time the bank sold.

It was then time to travel and enjoy spending more time with her kids and grandkids. She and Zanna lived on Lake Brownwood and enjoyed the lake atmosphere until she became ill and moved to Sweetwater to be closer to her doctor and to her kids.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother James C. Morgan.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-eight years, Zanna Anderson; three daughters, Zana Beth Branham of Sweetwater, Dana Sue Reed and husband, Larry of Sweetwater, and Penny Jo Brown of Rotan; five grandkids, Les Branham and wife, Janis of Stratford, Michael Brown of Kennedale, Candice DeSouza and husband, Ron of Lawton, Oklahoma. Nikki Johnson and husband, Taylor of Sweetwater, Cody Reed and wife, Stephanie of Claysville, Pennsylvania; seven great grandkids; Keira Briggs, Carson Vaughn, Devin Perez, Gabby Perez, Savhanna Perez, Leona Mae Reed, and Rylee DeSouza; and one sister, Patsy Steadham of Throckmorton.
