Susie "Bonnie" Cogburn

June 3, 1954 — December 5, 2020

Rotan

Susie “Bonnie” Cogburn 66, left this life to join her husband, Saturday, December 5, 2020.  There will be a Rosary and visitation at 6:00 pm on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the Rotan High School Auditorium. Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm in Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan.

Bonnie was born June 3, 1954 to Henry Sr and Mary Garcia of Rotan. She was the baby of five siblings. Bonnie attended and graduated from Rotan High School. She was a jack of all trades, but she found her true passion working at Rotan ISD for the last seventeen years.

On September 9, 1983 she married the love of her life Scotty Cogburn. They had two daughters, Jacobi and Stevie. After Scotty’s passing in early 1994, Bonnie focused all her attention on their two daughters, until she became a grandmother in 2002 and those grandbabies had her whole heart.

Susie was a devoted Catholic and loved her religion. She loved watching her grandchildren participate in sport and other school activities. Her heart laid on the softball field and she loved to play with her team, “The Shady Ladies” and also enjoyed playing in the Forth of July tournaments back in the day. She will truly be missed by so many people in the community, her school children, her daughters and especially her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Scotty Cogburn; her parents, Henry and Mary Lou Garcia; two brothers, Augie Garcia and Henry Garcia Jr.; one brother-in-law, Calvin Cogburn; and two sisters-in-law, Charlene Strube and Frances Wright.
