Vivian Erlene Tankersley, 94, passed away August 29, 2021. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Belvieu Cemetery. There will be a visitation before the service on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Erlene was born November 20, 1926, in Fisher County, to the late John E. and Katie Maretha (Ensminger) Gabel. She worked at the Fisher County Hospital for many years as the dietician for the cafeteria. She was a Godly woman and read her bible daily. She enjoyed games, sewing, and reading.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings Glenn Gabel, Charles Gabel, John Gabel, Wanda White and one son-in-law Warren Reynolds.
She is survived by three children; Diantha Reynolds of Pearland, Rodney Tankersley and wife Laura of Rotan, Vickie Hall, and husband Jerry of San Angelo; four grandchildren, Shanna Reynolds, Jamie Hall, Danna Stone and husband Kenneth, and Andrea Carrillo; seven great grandchildren, Jacob Bosley, Seth Sellers, Logan Hall, Katie Stone, Gavin Stone, Sean Stone, Karsen Carrillo and one great-great granddaughter, Jacie Bosley.
Pallbearers for her service will be Jamie Hall, Seth Sellers, Hoss Carrillo, Paul Carrillo, Jr., Alex Garcia, and Harold Gruben. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jacob Bosley, Logan Hall, Katie Stone, Gavin Stone, Sean Stone and Karsen Carrillo,
Erlene was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She was very much loved by all.
